I’ll be the first to admit this past year has been really tough for many of us; as life is just different now. It’s as if things are a bit normal but they are not, for example most places are open but many of us are still afraid to go all in….I mean we are still in a  whole pandemic-so we are extra cautious-as we should -but that means more time at home. And what better way to boost your mood and to make use of that time- by loving ourselves a little more. Self- love is necessary; you cannot truly love another until you know how to love and take care of yourself. That’s why I’m here to share 6 ways to jumpstart your mood.

Skincare Routine

Okay so you know I was going to start with skincare right? Taking care of your skin is the perfect way to love yourself a bit more. Having a skincare routine helps your skin stay nice and healthy; As we are shedding skin cells throughout the day, so it’s important to keep your skin glowing and in good condition. A good routine can help prevent acne, treat wrinkles, and help keep your skin look its best. And umm good skin will definitely put you in a good mood.

Cook Your Fave Meal

Cooking can be therapeutic and it’s one of those things I enjoy doing at times- It definitely slows you down and allow you to focus. Don’t know how to cook? Try an online cooking class alongside chefs; and then sit down and enjoy an unforgettable meal with your fave glass of wine. Trust me food will always put you in good mood.

Dress up for you!

Wear something nice put on that dress that you only got to wear once, put your headwrap on -you know the one that turns heads 💗spray a lil of that perfume you love so much; and cook something nice for yourself or even better order out- you’ll be supporting your fave local restaurant. #WinWin And uhh not sure about you but dressing up always have me feeling some type of way.

Photoshoot At Home

Now that you are all dressed up in your sexiest or most comfortable fit -Makeup on because you’ve been practicing 🙌🏾why not put that timer on your phone and take some pics. Allow yourself to be free and really embrace every part of you. Compliment every single part of your body. I guarantee you will feel a million times better and it will boost your mood.

Exercise Routine

This is the one! There is no better way to feel good about yourself than to exercise  and consistent exercise is linked to increased productivity and mental focus. Which means that exercising regularly can help you become more focused and present with your partner, children, and with yourself. I always feel amazing when I’m done. Can’t tell me nothing lol.

Try Some Caffeine

Okay wait so this is also the one lol. I’m not a big coffee drinker and when I do have it-I usually have a latte with almond milk -with no sugar pleaseee 🙂 and y’all it’s amazing; You have to try it. I do limit myself -as too much of anything isn’t good. but sometimes that little bit of caffeine is necessary-…..okay and gives you the perfect energy boost. The recommended healthy amount of caffeine is Up to 400 milligrams (mg) There are also teas you can try which is a much healthier option. Green tea is my forever fave. Yerba Matte is also an excellent choice as well and has so many benefits. Tons of antioxidants I’ll link my faves below. Hopefully these 6 ways to jumpstart your mood helps- I promise you will be much happier overall.
